Setup

  1. Seven tableau columns. The first column has one card, the second has two, and so on through seven.
  2. Top cards face up. Only the last card in each column begins face up.
  3. Stock and waste. The remaining 24 cards form the stock. Draw one card at a time to the waste.
  4. Four foundations. Each suit has a foundation that begins with its Ace.

Legal moves

Build the tableau

Place cards in descending rank and alternating colors—for example, a red 8 on a black 9.

Open empty columns

Only a King, or a valid sequence beginning with a King, may move to an empty tableau column.

Build foundations

Start each foundation with an Ace, then build upward in the same suit through King.

How to move cards on Shuffle Pals

Tap a face-up card or sequence, then tap its destination. Double-tap an available top card to send it directly to its foundation.

Draw 1 stock rules

  1. Tap the stock to turn one card face up on the waste pile.
  2. Only the top waste card is available to play.
  3. When the stock is empty, tap it again to return the waste cards to the stock.
  4. You may recycle the stock as often as needed in this version.

Beginner strategy

Reveal hidden cards

Moves that expose a face-down tableau card are usually your highest priority.

Protect useful colors

Do not rush every card to a foundation if it is still needed to build a tableau sequence.

Use empty columns wisely

Move a King only when it reveals cards or creates room for a useful sequence.
