Kings in the Corner rules
Race to empty your hand by building downward in alternating colors. Move cards and complete stacks around the table—but remember that only kings may open the four corner spaces.
Play Kings in the Corner →Setup
- Each player receives seven cards.
- Four cards begin face up as the center table piles.
- Four empty corner spaces sit between those piles.
- The remaining cards form the stock. The player who empties their hand first wins.
How to play
- Play a card one rank lower than the top card of a pile.
- The colors must alternate: red on black or black on red.
- Only a king may be played into an empty corner.
- You may make as many legal plays as you want during your turn.
- You may move a valid sequence of cards together onto another pile.
- Choose End turn & draw when finished. One card is drawn from the stock.
Example
A red 8 may be placed on a black 9. A black 7 can then be placed on that red 8.
Beginner strategy
Get kings into empty corners early. They create new places to play queens and longer sequences.
Combining table piles can uncover an empty center space and create more options.
Before playing a card, check whether it blocks another card of the same color in your hand.
